A client of the English bookmaker Ladbrokes won the bet of a lifetime last weekend. With a £2 stake, the player won £505,984.88 ($664,173) by correctly predicting eighteen football matches.
On Twitter, Alex Apati, PR manager at Ladbrokes, one of the top UK betting sites, posted that he saw the best sports bet ever last weekend.
A Ladbrokes customer played a combination of a total of eighteen matches for aggregate odds of 252,992.44. With a stake of £2 ($2,63), the player won £505,984.88 (over $650,000) by predicting everything correctly.
As can be expected with such a bet, it was anything but easy. The player had probably already given up hope four times.
In four of the eighteen games, the teams waited until the last seconds of the game to score the decisive goal.
